Abstract

The secondary school experiment with a network of calculators by the IREM Orléans group in partnership with INRP
was intended to design new mathematical situations and instrumental orchestrations involving collective class
intelligence. This article describes the stages of this work and shows how the theoretical concepts of collaborative work
instrumental genesis and reflective practice led to better understanding of what was involved in the experiment.
